Whoops

i usually place my templates to take advantage of the bias for appliqueing. Never gave the polka dots a second thought UNTIL the base was sewn in place. ;( A bit of ripping and I will be back in business.

  1. Hi Mary
Do you mean that you want to line up the background dots to be even? Just my humble, not very precise opinion, but it doesnt bother me a bit. I have done 13+ Lolly blocks on a dotted background and havent yet looked to see if any line up perfectly.
I live with a man who lines up two sheets of tissue perfectly in order to blow his nose, so I am aware that there are people who think differently than I do. Of course, I think he is an alien......

  2. At least it's a small piece and easy fix? ;)

  3. No, it wasn't the background dots that was my problem, but the base of the compote. It has been replaced as we speak. My DH is a "liner upper" as well. I am about in-between.

  4. I see the base and I think it would bother me too. It just means we have to place according to the fabric sometimes. I love the urn fabric.

  5. I think it would bother me too, but at least you noticed and changed it now. I agree with Janet--your urn is great.

  6. I too happen to LOVE that urn fabric! Nice fussy cut and fabric choice. ; ) As far as lining up...that's a tough call for me. I tend towards asymmetry. I adore Folk Art, Amish quilts and LOVE the Gee's Bend wonk and funk!!! It's all about personal choice, and what pleases YOU.

I was looking at this photo for a while and couldn't see what you were referring to! Kim McL
